Emilie Hesemeyer Memorial Scholarships

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Emilie Hesemeyer Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 with a preference given, but not limited to, students pursuing a Major in education.

This scholarship is renewable up to four years toward any single degree pending satisfactory progress.

Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semester's satisfactory grades and a full time spring semester class schedule.

For the 2012-2013 school year, new Hesemeyer scholarships will only be awarded as funding allows. Current Hesemeyer scholarship recipients will continue to receive funding as scheduled pending satisfactory progress.

Recipient progress will be monitored and reported to the funders.

All required documentation must be included. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

 


December 2011 Graduates


AAIA congratulates Kara Four Bear, Cheyenne River Sioux (top), and Lucas Tyree, Monacan (bottom) on their recent graduation!

Kara, a recipient of the AAIA Emilie Hesemeyer Scholarship, attended United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, ND and graduated with her degree in Education.

Lucas was a recipient of the AAIA Allogan Slage Scholarship and attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Lucas took 21 credits his last semester and received an A- and 6 A's! He received his degree in Agro-ecology and Environmental Quality.

We wish them the best in their future endeavors!
