Allogan Slagle Memorial Scholarships

(for students from tribes that are not federally recognized. Students from federally recognized tribes are not eligible for this scholarship. The Allogan Slagle Scholarship is the only scholarship students from non-recognized tribes are eligible for.)

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Allogan Slagle Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to students who are enrolled citizens of tribes that are not recognized by the federal government. Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semester's grades and a spring semester class schedule. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.

Due to tribal status the 1/4 blood quantum requirement is waived for this scholarship only. A CIB is requested if available. Documents showing lineal descent (parent/grandparent tribal enrollment cards) and a letter from your tribal chairman noting a history of family enrollment/participation are otherwise required.

All items listed on the application check sheet must be included. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
