board member Makalika naholowa'a

Makalika Nāholowaʻa is Kanaka Maoli, Native Hawaiian, and is a lawyer and an Indigenous Peoples advocate. She is the Executive Director at the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, a nonprofit law firm that has steadfastly served the lāhui as the preeminent practice for Native Hawaiian rights for 50 years. Makalika is also the Immediate Past President of the National Native American Bar Association. Makalika has held numerous board and committee leading roles with the American Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the Hawaii Access to Justice Commission, the International Trademark Association, the American Indian Sciences and Engineering Society, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, and others. Makalikaʻs past work includes several roles at Microsoft Corporation and time as an Associate attorney at Perkins Coie LLP. Makalika holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science from Arizona State University.
